United Apostolic Church of Uganda is a oneness Pentecostal Church operating in Uganda with 654 established churches in Uganda under United Pentecostal Church International. The Church exists to glorify Jesus Christ and reach the lost and communities with Apostolic truth of the oneness of God, Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and leaving a holy life to prepare the church for the second coming of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. We believe in the Bible and that there is only one God and His name is Jesus Christ. (1st Timothy 3:16, Deuteronomy 6:4 and Ephesians 4:5).
The United Apostolic Church of Uganda began its ministry with the arrival of the First Missionary Rev. John Harris in 1971. Due to the problems at the time in Uganda, he moved to Nairobi Kenya. While in Kenya he was able to visit and conduct services in Uganda, establishing the Ministry of the United Pentecostal Church Int, USA. Several Ugandan Pastors continued to Preach and establish a few churches during those troubled years, mostly in the Eastern part of Uganda.
It wasn’t till 1996 that the United Pentecostal Church Int, USA was able to send another missionary to Uganda. Rev. and Mrs. Arlon Royer arrived and began the process of registering the Church as an NGO. However between the “70 and 1996 some other ministry took our name “United Pentecostal Church” and registered their own ministry using our name, so we had to register the Church as the “United Apostolic Church of Uganda.” (UACU).
The United Apostolic Church of Uganda had a slow growth, reaching 31 Churches and 62 Pastors by 2007. In 2007 Missionary Royer was replaced by Rev. and Mrs. Philip Tolstad who took oversight of the Church. Since that time, the Church has seen great growth and revival. In 2016 reaching to 625 Churches and Branch Churches throughout the Districts in Uganda. Most of the Churches are in Villages or Trading Centers.
In 2015 the United Apostolic Church of Uganda began a Bible Trainig Center for Pastors. In 2016 the Church was able to purchase 30 acres in Luwero District, by the kind donation of Churches in America, to expand the Bible School to train young men and women in Ministry. The Available classes not only include Bible Subjects, but offer many other courses to help and assist pastors become well educated and mature. The United Apostolic Church of Uganda looks to the future with great anticipation at what God is doing in Uganda to promote HIS Church. We are excited to see the growth and maturity in the lives of people throughout Uganda.
We embrace and stand in the Apostolic Unity, Faith, Truth and Worship. We believe the Bible to be inspired of God, the infallible Word of God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe in the one ever living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father, through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation (1 Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6; 2 Cor. 5:19; Joel 2:28).
